● To lead the successful delivery of LS/ EAL programs across the School. ● To inspire and enthuse members of the team, with a clear vision for the future direction of the Additional Needs Department. ● To develop clear and progressive programs for LS and EAL. ● Support the development of inclusion, equality of opportunity and respect for all students. ● To act as a role model to others, demonstrating high standards of professionalism in all aspects of leadership. ● To undertake regular audits and quality assurance checks to ensure that the highest standards are being achieved in all aspects of the department’s work. ● To monitor standards of teaching and learning within the department and implement strategies for sustained improvement. ● To oversee and support the professional development of all staff within the department through training and sharing of good practice opportunities. ● To co-ordinate the resources of the Department, giving support and guidance to relevant staff. ● To complete all administrative tasks in a timely and accurate manner. ● To maintain and review the Learning Support and EAL policies and agreed practices. ● To support the admissions process by evaluating students with a cause for concern before entry. ● To liaise with the Finance Department to maintain up to date billing information of the programs. ● Liaise with the Exams’ Officer with regards to access arrangements
Masters degree or above
Minimum five (5) years or more relevant full-time teaching experience as a qualified teacher. (Qualified teacher status is a must) Be a passionate educator with the ability to deliver inquiry-based learning. Familiar with the PYP, IGCSE and IB Diploma curriculum. Experience in an international school environment (preferred)
